Great weather and great hot rods in the Motor City. The Detroit Dragway Reunion was on track with gassers, alky funny cars and top fuel cackle cars. History trumps all, it wasnt the prettiest, it wasnt the best made… but it had history. Made in 49-50 by a father/son team in their Antwerp, OH garage, with what they had (which was a 39 ford), they made a custom roadster. Known history since new. Original engine on its 3rd rebuild (now .080 over). Gets driven everywhere. Worthy of Best of Show at Billetproof Detroit. Best Hot Rod went to an unchopped coupe Built in 1959. It had photos documenting its whole life. Best Custom went to a chopped 1940 Dodge coupe. When was the last time you saw one of those?
